• Phase 5

Ikier Wellness 336 Baker Ave, Concord, MA, United States

This class is sometimes called the heart of Ortho-Bionomy. In this class participants move to a more subtle level of awareness. Specific techniques develop participant's ability to notice and support the client's innate posture and movement patterns. In Phase 5 students will practice techniques that enhance their ability to perceive, support and employ the self correcting reflexes. Students will practice being, grounding and relationship. The techniques in this class provide tools to work even more specifically and deeply, though even more softly. Come learn to do more with greater ease.

Prerequisite is one Ortho-Bionomy class or permission from the Instructor.

  • Ortho-Bionomy Basic: Focus on the Extremities

Ikier Wellness 336 Baker Ave, Concord, MA, United States

This foundational class covers the history and principles of Ortho-Bionomy. Participants will learn techniques for the shoulder, clavicle, ribs, elbow, wrist and hand, as well as femur rotation, knee, ankle and foot. More details for this class are listed in the description above (for the same class at the Downeast School of Massage).

The Extremities and Spine classes together cover the basic techniques for the whole body. It does not matter which class you take first. Either way, you will leave with an understanding of the principles and the procedure and be able to use them immediately. The second class is likely to seem easier as you will have your experience of the first behind you. If you have had these classes but it has been while it is great to return to them and pick up details (and important points!) you missed the first time. Ortho-Bionomy is amazingly simple but the mastery of it leads to deeper growth, understanding and skill over a life time. It has been over 30 years for me so far. I am still amazed, challenged, surprised and delighted by my daily experiences in Ortho-Bionomy.
